Denali Team 5: May 29 – June 18
Guides: Forest McBrian, Dustin Byrne, and Kristen Looper
Climbers: David Flux (UK), Mark Aitken (UK), Steve Olivera (Guam), Rishi Patel (UK), Nichola Tuer (UK), and Richard Paul Brooks (Australia).
Forest called at 9:30am on June 6th with this dispatch:
“Hey everyone! We had a great weekend! Last night we had a fried burrito dinner. We’ve been talking about a team name but nothing solid so far. It might be The Gazelles, but I can’t promise anything. We were stuck here at Camp 2 for a day but we finally were able to do a carry up to 14,000 feet. Today it’s absolutely beautiful – sunny, clear, but cold.
We’re right in the middle of breaking down camp. We’re still in the shade but the sun should be hitting us any minute now. The plan for today is to move up to the next camp [Camp 3 at 14,000 feet]. I think the weather won’t be as great up there, but it’s the best time for us to move! Talk to you later.”

Here's hoping that sunny weather stays with you, at least in recent memories if it gets colder and more windy up farther. The food always sounds good for every team. You must have one awesome provisioner at AAI!
Hi Rich
Hope you are staying safe and warm. We are following your progress every day and it sounds like you are all doing great. We both miss you lots - Sam is sailing in a regatta this weekend and he wanted me to tell you he has managed to rig his own racing sail!
Take Care
Lots of love Jackie and Samx
