Team Members:

Nicholas Tocher

Update Received: June 7, 2014. 6:50pm PST.  Team 5 had and early morning start and placed a cache at 13,400'.  Everyone is strong, weather was great although a little chilly, the views were beautiful and Windy Corner was... just a little breezy. The snow where they placed their cache was really hard and compact, so it was a little more challenging digging in than expected. They made it back to Camp 2 just as the clouds were closing in and snow started coming down. Dylan cooked Thai noodles for dinner.

Nicholas sends a hello back home.

To Jim Schoettler from Torrey and Whistler. Running a lot trying to make my Torrey Trail into a ravine. Finally got my hind legs through the dog door. You'd be proud of us.

An inspirational poem for Team 5:

Up north in the land of the Midnight Sun
Hiking and climbing and having some fun

Pulling your sleds
Sun (or snow) on your heads
Gobbling down your cinnamon bun

Stay warm and cozy at night in your tents
Those fancy sleeping bags are worth all those cents

Who cares about showers
You must smell like flowers
Please come home soon without any dents!

One day soon you will stand on the top
At home we’ll cheer and champagne we will pop

Take a few selfies
Clear bats out of the belfries
Get down safely and heavy loads you can drop!

Yay Team 5!! (Love you Jim!)
