Denali Team 1: April 29 to May 19 - Dispatch #3

Guides: Alasdair Turner, Chad Cochran, Aili Farquhar

Climbers: Maria Conceicao (Dubai), Stephen Martin (UK), Christopher Kulish (Colorado), Zlatko Filipovic (Sweden), Steve Bain (Colorado), Lorenzo Baraldini (Italy), Christopher Heywood (Oman), Sergey Dmitriev (Russia), Vitaly Simonovich (Russia)

Alasdair called at 1:25 PST on 5/1 with the following dispatch:

"Greetings from Camp 1 at 7,800 feet above sea level on Denali!  Today would normally have been scheduled as a cache day, where we carry some of our gear high up on the mountain and bury it for later use.  However, the weather did not cooperate, as there is currently zero visibility, it is snowing, and it's windy out.  Thankfully it is warm, and we are just hanging out having a delicious rice pudding breakfast.  Rice pudding is a new addition to AAI's Denali menu, and I think we perfected it first try!  There are some birds that have decided to take residence in our camp this morning, which is fun for bird geeks like myself.  All in all, everyone is having a good time and doing well.  The plan for today is to hydrate and watch it snow, and hopefully make our cache tomorrow.

Steven would like to say hello to his two daughters and his wife.  We will send you all more messages soon."
