Alaska Range Mountaineering - Dispatch 6

Alaska Range Mountaineering - 5/5 - 5/14/2013
Guide: Paul Rosser
Climbers: Kent Irwin, Joseph Irwin, Christian Kesler, Prathap Sridharan

Paul Rosser called at 9:50pm on May 11th with the following dispatch:

Paul said they attempted Mt. Dickey and turned around at about 8500 feet because the snow stability deteriorated and became sketchy. After they turned around he reported there were avalanches every 5 minutes on a mountain across the way. They are back at camp and enjoying great conditions, except for the snow pack.

Hey P -

Wow, sounds like you guys were in the thick of it! So glad you got off the mountain safely! Please continue to exercise extreme caution and enjoy the massages and hot towels. Sounds like you have excellent company at any rate!

Hope to hear from you soon...

Love, Jeanne (a.k.a. your "girlfriend" :)
