Denali Team 3: May 15 – June 4 Dispatch #10
Denali Team 3: May 15 – June 4
Guides: Tom Kirby and Matt Erpelding
Climbers: Allen Borgardts (Missouri), Robert “Alex” Borgardts (Missouri), Jonathan Fischer (Colorado), David Haimsky (Virginia), Jeffrey Gephart (Michigan), Helle Dam Sorensen (Denmark), Brandon McNalley (Washington), Ryan Canfield (Washington)
Mat called at 1:15pm on May 26th with this dispatch:
"Hello! It’s Mat calling, from another beautiful day on Denali. It’s really nice right now. We switched gears and decided to do a carry today above the fixed lines. ‘14-Camp’ is incredibly crowded right now. We’re standing in line for the fixed lines and there’s about, oh, I’d say, about 30 people going up right now in front of us. We woke up early this morning, stuffed ourselves with hashbrowns, and did some skills practice from about 8:30 to 11:00. We ate a quick lunch and headed out to wait in line! I can’t say today will be a very exciting day but hopefully the traffic will settle down and we can have a productive day, followed by a well-deserved rest day tomorrow. I don’t have time to take messages right now, but I will tomorrow. Bye!"

Glad you guys are making the most of the weather that you have. I see your weather changing for the worse soon....2 days max of this type of weather. Good luck and enjoy your neighbors.
Brandon recieved a letter that says that you have a conference, and that they will be sending a letter with date and time. Praying that the weather stays nice so you can summit!
New updated models don't show the ridge breaking down for another six days......you guys are going to enjoy your time up there for sure! Just watch out for the localized weather and have a blast with the scenery!
Hope you're taking lots of pictures so we can re-live the trip with you. Love you, B. Mom
Jon, David, so excited for you! (Me, in sheer panic right now! This is worse than than the mountain, I bet!) Don't forget to practice your electric slide while waiting by the fixed lines... Kick ass, guys!!! Anna
Ryan you guys are getting so close! Please stay safe and try to keep warm! I'll keep my fingers crossed the weather stays nice! I can't even imagine how beautiful it would be if you reached the summit and there wasn't a cloud in the sky! Hope you're having fun and know I'm missing you! Love you!!
