Denali Team 5: May 27 to June 16 - Dispatch #13

Guides: Alasdair Turner, Chad Cochran, Higinio Gonzalez

Climbers: Mary Neave (UK), James Neave (UK), Alex Round (UK),  Daniel Hughes (UK), Knut Heggland (Norway), Guy Manning (Cayman Islands), Michael Rieder (Idaho)

Alasdair called at 2:20 pm PST on 6/14 with the following dispatch:

"We are out!   We started walking at about 3:00 pm yesterday from 14 camp.  Honestly, things were a little sketchy and we had some strong avalanche concerns that we had to deal with.  Sometimes we were up to our groin in the deep snow.

We made it to11,000' at about 8:00 last night.  We met up with Richard and his crew at Camp 1 and cooked dinner with him.  We then continued through the night and made it to basecamp at about 2:00 am.  We were pretty pooped, but everyone did a great job.

The weather was really nice at basecamp, and some folks even opted to do an open bivy and not sleep in their tents.  It was actually a pretty beautiful night.  We flew out earlier today and now we're back in Talkeetna.  Now everyone is relaxing a little bit before they head back to the rest of the world.

Well, I think that's it.  Thanks again everyone!"
